Che si tratti di una provocazione, di una seria preoccupazione o più probabilmente di un modo per tentare di spingere l’amministrazione Trump a una regolamentazione, le dichiarazioni di OpenAI delineano un quadro che merita di essere approfondito. Uno scenario che ci ricorda ancora una volta quanto l’IA sia affamata di dati.

A inizio 2025 Elon Musk, insieme a vari esperti del settore, si è detto convinto che i dati reali per addestrare l’IA siano finiti. Mark Penn, CEO di Stagwell, ha affermato che la somma cumulativa della conoscenza umana è già stata esaurita nell’ambito dell’addestramento dell’intelligenza artificiale. Questo sarebbe avvenuto nel corso del 2024. Penn non è di certo il solo a sostenere questa tesi, considerando che a essersi fatte notare sono state soprattutto le dichiarazioni di Ilya Sutskever, uno degli ex dipendenti più illustri di OpenAI. L’ex capo scienziato dell’azienda ha infatti teorizzato che, proprio per via della mancanza di dati, si renderà presto necessario un cambio di approccio in termini di addestramento dell’IA.
